Martin, who also wrote the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series that served as the basis for the hit show “Game of Thrones.” The prequel series is set hundreds of years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” and will explore the Targaryen family’s tumultuous history and the origins of the conflict that led to the downfall of the Targaryens and the rise of the Baratheons.

“House of the Dragon” will star an impressive cast, including Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, and Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. The show is being directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who won an Emmy for his work on “Game of Thrones,” and is being written by Ryan Condal.

With its epic scope and talented cast and crew, “House of the Dragon” is sure to be a hit with “Game of Thrones” fans and newcomers alike. Keep an eye out for its release on HBO, and get ready to be transported back to the world of Westeros.
